ALBERTO GÓMEZ HERRERA
Alberto Gómez Herrera (13th February 1986) was born in Madrid (Spain), and currently holds a PhD and postdoctoral experience as a chemistry researcher. While he nowadays works as a Research Leader in a chemical company, he spends most of his free time dedicated to localisation and translation tasks.
After being an avid gamer during its childhood, he came back to playing videogames during the last decade, and motivated by visibilising less known gaming projects, he decided to offer his help to a small company with the Spanish localisation of one of their Android games: Runes Rebirth. After they accepted the offer, he decided to work to his best and learnt a lot about professional localisation for audiovisual contents, thus providing a final product which was highly interesting for the clients, CUTKEY Studio.
Since then, Alberto has offered himself to various gaming projects and has got various projects on a current and constant development, most of them on crowdsourced localisation websites. Within those projects, his great performance has allowed him to become main proofreader of his main language pair: English>Spanish (Spain), collaborating in 25 projects and with his translations being in apps and games ranging from GPS apps to 3rd person shooters, technical repair guides, adventure games and many more.
Alberto is currently developing his localisation skills further by completing professionalising courses and by being trained in various localisation softwares, further helping him to increase his performance and results. Up until now, he has collaborated/localised more than 30 games; these include from AAA games to indie projects, with different styles (RPGs, puzzle games…) and for different platforms (Steam, Google Play…).
